We’ve returned year after year to one of our favorite spots in the world for skiing, Jackson Hole Wyoming. On the edges of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, the area offers fabulous skiing in spectacular surroundings and abounds with majestic scenery, rugged mountain landscapes and plenty of Rocky Mountain lodge charm.
This spectacular environment provides enormous inspiration for holiday decorating with it’s tall white bark pine trees and glittering snow not to mention the stone and timber architecture of the luxury resort at the base of the mountain, Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole.

Each year we return, we step inside the resort in anticipation of seeing the impressive, beautifully decorated and wonderfully fragrant Christmas trees that reach to the very top of the ceiling in the lobby. This year was certainly no disappointment with the trees decorated in hues of cranberry and burgundy. Large glistening kissing balls, sparkling red pine cones and large mouth blown glass bubbles were used to create these magical trees. The little golden eggs in nests and fluffy, life like squirrels added to their mountain charm.

This year, entranced by the decoration of the 2011 Christmas trees, we visited Ian again in his new store and caught up with all that he had been doing.
Ian’s business creates spectacular floral designs for many of the luxury hotels and private homes in the area as well as for local businesses and events. On the morning of our visit to Floral Art Jackson, Ian was busy not only serving the walk in customers but was also in the throws of organizing arrangements for 50 tables for an upcoming political fundraising event to be held later in the week.

At this time of year, Ian is particularly able to let his creativity soar. With clients who own winter vacation homes in the area arriving from all over the US and who require their Christmas trees set up and decorated prior to arrival, Ian is able to ensure their homes are decorated and ready for the holidays.
